Job Description: |
Position Overview:
The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the company’s credit and collections processes. This includes evaluating customer creditworthiness, monitoring outstanding balances, ensuring timely payments, and minimizing financial risk to the business. The role plays a key part in maintaining healthy cash flow and building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
- Review and assess credit applications and set credit limits in accordance with company policy.
- Contact customers via phone, email, and letter to follow up on overdue invoices.
- Resolve invoice and payment queries in collaboration with the Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams.
- Reconcile customer accounts and allocate incoming payments accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and payment arrangements.
- Prepare and distribute monthly aged debt reports and KPIs to senior management.
- Escalate high-risk accounts and prepare documentation for legal or third-party recovery action when necessary.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and provide input on provisions for bad debts.
- Continuously review and improve credit control procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
